Who are we...
SharAmbrosia is a company that was formed by Sharon Houghton. Sharon has been an esthetician for twenty seven years, working in some of the finest salons from coast to coast. While many of her counterparts were investing in high priced machines and specializing in the latest 'fad' products of the day, Sharon found that by using old fashioned personal attention and hands-on therapy, her business grew, and her clients seemed to long to come in and get her special healing experience.
After moving to the rural countryside of Pennsylvania, however, she had found a place where facials were not in such demand. She felt the need to grow in other ways. While enjoying her love of gardening, the study of herbs, and cooking, she began making her own natural beauty products. Immediately she realized how important these products were. She knew that if others received the same incredible benefits from her products that she was getting, she was really on to something.
Slowly she started trying her products out on her clients and began seeing results that she had never experienced before. These products made the skin feel softer and healthier than any un-natural product that she had ever used. Already being a big believer in herbs helped her to realize that this was a powerful thing that she was now involved in. This was true healing!
At this same time, Sharon was getting familiarized with the Internet and it's great communication advantages. She began searching for companies that were making herbal formulations and 100% natural beauty products. It was amazing to her that there were so few companies out there that were willing to keep the synthesized ingredients out of their products, especially now that she knew it was possible. Over time she learned that the reason was due to the higher cost in making quality natural products as opposed to cheap synthetic ones. So that's when the idea came to her that she needed to step out of her cozy place, and become a pioneer in the field of 'all natural beauty' on the web.
...and why did we create this site
This site was created for many reasons. The main reason was to give consumers and beauty professionals a place to go to find truly 'all' natural beauty products and services. There are many companies out there that claim to have natural products, but there are very few that actually do.
Another reason that this site was created was to give a platform to the honest natural product manufacturers that are up against the glamorous and very slick corporations that are in charge at the moment. Our manufacturers are companies that are in the all natural product business because they feel in their hearts that it's right, not to prey on people's desire for the perfect image. The beauty business is all about illusion. You can either buy into it, or become socially aware, and conscious. Do your research.
The companies on the "all natural beauty" web site have been selected for all of the morally right reasons, not for how much money they could pay us. That is why this site will be different from any other that we know of on the Internet.
We hope that people will get the message that we are setting out to convey, that all natural beauty is best. It's the better way to go for your health, your children's health, and the health of our planet and all of it's inhabitants. Wake up to what's been going on for the last several decades. We've been brainwashed into thinking that the large cosmetics corporations know what's best for us. They don't!
We believe that once people become aware, natural beauty will become more popular, the same way that natural food and natural health has. We sure hope so.
